In a shocking and deeply tragic incident, a 26-year-old man from Magunje has been arrested for the alleged rape and murder of a six-year-old girl.
The suspect, identified as Shingai Makura, is accused of brutally assaulting the young victim by striking her head with a rock in an attempt to conceal the heinous crime.
According to ZimLive, the horrifying incident took place in Mavhondo Village, Chief Dandawa, Magunje. On October 28, 2023, police arrested Makura in connection with the murder case. The lifeless body of the six-year-old girl was discovered unclothed, lying between two large rocks in a bushy area.
“On 28 October 2023, police in Magunje arrested Shingai Makura, 26, in connection with a case of murder in which a minor, 6, was found lying naked between two big rocks in a bushy area in Mavhondo Village, Chief Dandawa, Magunje.
“The suspect allegedly raped the victim before he hit her with a stone on the head in a bid to conceal the rape case,” reads the statement.
