Traditional Healer Robbed of US$850 by Clients Seeking Goblin’s Prosperity
In an unfortunate incident, Leonard Gwaze, a self-styled traditional healer, fell victim to a robbery orchestrated by two individuals who posed as clients seeking his assistance in finding prosperity through a goblin.
The incident took a surprising turn when a disagreement ensued between Gwaze and the two men, leading to the theft of US$850. Despite his mystical abilities, Gwaze was unable to retrieve the stolen money through magical means.
The suspects, identified as Tapiwanashe Muringai (27) and Oracle Johnson (30), have since been apprehended and are now facing charges of robbery. According to Assistant Inspector Faith Mapisa, the deputy spokesperson for the Harare provincial police, the accused initially encountered Gwaze at Chisipite Shopping Centre while he was engaged in a conversation about his occupation as a traditional healer.
Seizing the opportunity, one of the suspects approached Gwaze and expressed a desire for his assistance in improving his own life. Subsequently, Gwaze and the individual boarded a taxi and proceeded to the residential address of the other suspect. It was at this location that the two men requested Gwaze’s aid in acquiring a goblin for the purpose of attaining prosperity.
However, Gwaze clarified that he could only help them enhance their lives rather than provide a mystical creature.
Unfortunately, a dispute arose during the ritualistic process, leading to the accused individuals blocking the doorway and prompting Gwaze to react in self-defenCe. In the ensuing struggle, one of the suspects seized Gwaze’s wallet, containing the aforementioned sum of money, and replaced it with an empty one before making their escape from the premises.
