A man was arrested for the possession of 22 kilograms of ivory, valued at approximately US$3 740.
In a statement, police said during the arrest of Godfrey Eliam (22), a 303 rifle was also recovered.
“On 20/10/23, detectives from CID Minerals, Flora and Fauna Unit, Harare acted on received information and arrested Godfrey Eliam (22) at a house in Marlborough in connection with unlawful possession of two pieces of ivory weighing 22 kilogrammes and valued at US$ 3 740. A 303 rifle was also recovered at the scene,” reads the statement.
