Newborn Baby Abandoned in the Street Found Wrapped in Plastic Bag and Blanket
In a distressing incident, a two-week-old baby boy was discovered abandoned on Mafunga Street in Dzivarasekwa 2, Harare. The infant was found wrapped in a plastic bag and covered with a blanket, prompting an investigation by the local police.
According to a statement released by the police, the case involves the heart-wrenching act of baby dumping. The innocent newborn, estimated to be approximately two weeks old, was left in a vulnerable state along the aforementioned street.
“Police in Harare are investigating a case of baby dumping in which a baby boy (approximately two weeks old) was found dumped along Mafunga Street Dzivarasekwa 2. The baby was in a plastic bag and was covered with a blanket,” reads the statement.
