A tragic incident unfolded in Masvingo as a man went on the run after allegedly fatally stabbing his uncle during a beer binge.
The suspect, identified as Enock Mudzingwa, aged 20, reportedly engaged in a heated argument with his uncle, who shared the same name and was 44 years old. The altercation took a devastating turn when the younger Enock Mudzingwa resorted to violence, repeatedly stabbing his uncle in the arm, chest, and leg.
According to a statement released by the police on their official X account, the incident occurred on September 29, 2023, at Mukuta Village in Chivi.
“Police in Masvingo are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Enock Mudzingwa (20) who is being sought in connection with a case of murder which occurred on 29/09/23 at Mukuta Village, Chivi.”
“The suspect struck his uncle Enock Mudzingwa (44) with a knife on the arm, chest and leg after an argument during a beer drinking spree. The victim died on the spot. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station,” reads the statement.
