A self-proclaimed prophet in Zimbabwe found himself in hot water with the law after police discovered an unusual item in his home. Comrade Chinaka, 43, was taken into custody on Sunday in the Harare suburb of Zengeza 3.
According to authorities, officers had visited Chinaka’s house on Chipo Road to follow up on an unrelated assault allegation.
It was then that they came upon something curious. While his wife packed up belongings in preparation for vacating the premises, a large python skin was uncovered stashed under the bed. Measuring approximately three meters in length, the snake hide raised questions about how it came into Chinaka’s possession. As a self-described prophet, one can only speculate what spiritual purposes, if any, the python skin was intended to serve.
Police have opened an investigation into the matter. For now, Chinaka sits in jail not only answering for the alleged assault, but also for the mysterious python remains found secreted away in his home. Whether the skin was obtained legally or not remains to be seen. But for a man portraying himself as a man of God, its discovery has certainly complicated his situation and reputation in the eyes of the law.
Further details around the incident have yet to emerge.
