Four men armed with pistols reportedly robbed a Mukuru outlet, making off with more than US$2,000 in cash and seizing customers’ cellphones.
The incident took place at Muzeziwa General Dealer Shop, situated within the Chitindiva Business Centre in Karoi. Law enforcement officials, as per a statement shared on X (Twitter), have initiated an investigation into the matter.
According to the police statement, the unidentified suspects targeted a money transfer booth operated by Mukuru, within the aforementioned shop. In addition to stealing a cellphone and a cash box containing US$2,909.00, as well as ZAR 9,400.00 in cash, they proceeded to confiscate five cellphones from customers present at the scene. Subsequently, the robbers fled in a silver Hyundai vehicle, which served as their getaway car. Police have urged anyone with relevant information to report it promptly to the nearest Police Station.
