In a tragic incident, a 32-year-old man identified as Endrique Chikaitwa lost his life after being stoned by a gang comprised of six individuals who accused him of mining gold ore in their pit. The incident occurred in the Wonderer area of Shurugwi, leaving the community shocked and mourning the untimely death.

According to Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, Chikaitwa was engaged in gold ore mining at a pit when the six suspects, who are currently on the run, confronted him. The gang claimed ownership of the location and immediately accused Chikaitwa and his friend of extracting gold ore without permission.

In a violent outburst, the gang began hurling stones at Chikaitwa, relentlessly attacking him. Tragically, Chikaitwa succumbed to the injuries inflicted by the brutal stoning and died on the spot. His friend, however, managed to escape the assault, narrowly avoiding a similar fate.

Inspector Mahoko confirmed that the police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the six suspects involved in the fatal attack. The authorities are determined to bring them to justice for their alleged role in Chikaitwa’s untimely demise.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern within the local community, as such acts of violence are deeply unsettling. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects to come forward and assist in their swift apprehension.
