Man’s Body Found Stabbed in Gweru Neighborhood
The body of an unidentified man was discovered in Gweru’s Mkoba residential area on Monday morning. He had suffered multiple stab wounds.
A passerby spotted the body lying along Mutasa Street near a Baptist church just after 5 AM. Upon inspection, police found the man had been stabbed several times all over his torso, back, legs and head.
Police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said investigators are looking into the death. One witness, who asked to remain anonymous, saw the body as they walked to work that morning.
Some residents believe the stabbing may be connected to another that happened that night. They said two men were attacked leaving a 24-hour nightclub at the nearby Mkoba shopping center. Only one of the victims survived.
The assaulted man’s body was taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital for an autopsy. Police are still working to identify him. They are asking for anyone who may have information about what happened in the early morning hours along Mutasa Street.
Anyone with details that could help solve this case is urged to contact authorities. The neighbourhood is shaken by the violence and hopes police can make an arrest.
