In a heart-stopping incident that unfolded in broad daylight, a security company’s cash-in-transit office in Thorngroove West fell victim to a brazen robbery yesterday.
According to preliminary reports, two men had arrived at the cash-in-transit offices to collect a significant sum of cash for banking purposes. However, their routine task turned into a nightmare when they were suddenly accosted by two armed male suspects. The assailants brandished an unidentified pistol, instilling fear and panic within the premises.
The tranquility of the bustling suburb was shattered at approximately 12:20 p.m. when the daring duo struck. With nerves of steel and lightning-fast reflexes, the criminals pounced on the cash collectors, leaving them stunned and defenceless.
In a matter of moments, the criminals snatched a satchel containing a substantial amount of US$122,598-00, intended for secure transportation to a bank. With their ill-gotten gains in hand, the perpetrators hastily fled the scene in a white Honda Fit getaway vehicle.
