Tragedy struck when a three-month-old baby girl lost her life after accidentally slipping from her father’s grasp. The heart-wrenching incident occurred on Monday amidst a disagreement between the parents regarding mismanaged finances.
According to the authorities, the father, identified as Collins Dzonga (23), was carrying his precious daughter to her mother when the unfortunate mishap unfolded. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) released a statement, describing the devastating incident that transpired on the 7th of August 2023.
“The ZRP reports a sad incident in which a 3-month-old baby girl died after falling to the ground from her father Collins Tafadzwa Dzonga’s hands.”
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the National police spokesperson, shared further details surrounding the tragic event. He revealed that the father had allegedly assaulted his wife, accusing her of misusing funds, prior to the heartbreaking accident.
“Dzonga (23) was carrying the victim to her mother on 07/08/23”.
“The suspect had assaulted his wife over allegations of misusing funds,” Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi stated.
