A heinous crime has sh0cks the community of Mt Hampden after Tonderai Chemasi brutally murdered his 28-year-old wife Melania Mutenda and their 2-year-old son Tinaye Chemasi.
According to police reports, Tonderai, a brick maker, attacked his wife and child with a hoe before hanging himself in their home. Their decomposing bodies were found four days later and taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital morgue.
Melania’s sister Esnath Mutenda revealed that Melania had separated from Tonderai and moved in with another man in Chitungwiza who had gotten her prǝgnɑnt.
Tonderai pleaded with Melania to return home and have an ɑbortion, claiming he had forgiven her infidǝlity.
“He pretended to love her like never before,” said Esnath.
When Melania went to Chitungwiza to collect her belongings, the other man refused to let her go back to Tonderai, saying he did not want another man to raise his child.
Unaware of Tonderai’s true intentions, Melania returned home where he tried forcing her to have an ɑbortion. When she refused, Tonderai brutally murdered Melania and their son in a horrific act of violence.
Esnath said “Tonderai intended to kill Melania. He faked l0ving her so she would return home, then cold-bloodedly murdered her and Tinaye.”
Tonderai then took his own life, leaving two innocent lives lost in his cruel and calculated plot for revenge.
