Enemy of progress: Chaos as Zanu PF candidate tries to block CCC member’s cement donations to schools

FORMER Cabinet minister Flora Bhuka, who is also the Zanu PF candidate for the Gokwe-Nembudziya constituency, has been accused of threatening teachers at various schools in the constituency.

The threats come after teachers reportedly received more than 150 bags of cement from Citizens Coalition for Change candidate Donewell Bangure for the refurbishment of dilapidated classroom blocks.

Bangure, a senior medical practitioner, allegedly clashed with Bhuka after he donated 30 bags of cement at Bande Primary School, resulting in the former minister and one Tafadzwa Muchuchu threatening the school head with unspecified action if the donation was accepted.

It is also alleged that Bhuka teamed up with Zanu PF central committee member Edson Chiherenge and one Sign Jonas to stop the opposition candidate from donating 10 bags of cement in ward 11, Kofi village.

The opposition candidate, however, reportedly defied the threats and donated more than 100 bags of cement to Nyatso Primary School, Tongogara Primary School, Mawaya Preschool and for repairing the Chinyenyetu dip tank.

Contacted for comment, Bangure accused his competitor of playing dirty.

“I am facing challenges in my constituency, that include intimidation of people, threats of unspecified actions against teachers for accepting the cement that I bought to refurbish infrastructure at various schools,” Bangure said.

Bhuka was not answering her phone.
