Controversial Norton MP Temba Mliswa has announced plans to run for president in 2028, saying he has what it takes to lead the nation.

Addressing supporters over the weekend, the outspoken MP said a “dream” told him he should aim for the top job after serving as Norton MP.

“If the Lord has not spoken to you about my future as a Parly winner this year, it means you are not prayerful,” he proclaimed confidently.

“In a dream, the Lord advised me that I would be in Hurungwe West as an MP, then proceed to Norton before I become the President of Zimbabwe because I articulate people’s challenges.”

Supporters cheered as Mliswa spoke of his presidential ambitions. Some Zanu PF supporters even backed him, saying he does more for the people than other candidates.

Mliswa said being an MP is now just an “honour” but he will run for president in 2028 when Mnangagwa’s second term ends.

“2028, we will meet at number one post. The elderly will visit State House barefoot,” he boasted.

He lashed out at CCC leader Nelson Chamisa, saying he’s “losing grip” for failing to build a strong structure.

“I see Chamisa losing his grip, which is why I decided to enter the race myself. He lacks proper structures. I am entering the race, and I urge all of you to be there in 2028.”,” Mliswa sneered.

In Norton, Mliswa has drilled over 30 boreholes and built toilets, blessing areas like Mutubva Secondary School over the weekend.
