A man from Umguza, located on the outskirts of Bulawayo, is fighting for his life at Mpilo Central Hospital after being attacked by his friend with a machete. The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 12:30 pm, when Zwelinkosi Nyathi (24) reportedly refused to buy his friend, Cornelius Ndebele (32), a beer.
According to a source close to the situation, Ndebele became angry and began to insult Nyathi, accusing him of being a nuisance and causing them to be kicked out of the drinking spot. Ndebele then allegedly attacked Nyathi, striking him three times in the face with a machete.
A Good Samaritan found Nyathi as he was walking home and took him to Mpilo Central Hospital for treatment. Ndebele was arrested after the incident was reported at Sauerstown Police Station and is facing a charge of attempted murder.
