Zimbabwe’s anti-graft authorities have swooped on the palatial mansion of embattled wannabe presidential candidate Saviour Kasukuwere, sources say. The former cabinet minister tearfully cried foul after the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) raided his family home.
In explosive tweets, the ex-ZANU-PF chief labelled the operation “desperation on steroids” and asked current ruler Emmerson Mnangagwa: “What valuation are you carrying out? ED Mnangagwa is it criminal to contest you?”
Desperation on steroids! Why is the regime sending ZACC to my family home. What valuation are you carrying out ? @edmnangagwa Is it criminal to contest you?

The raid comes after his dreams of standing against Mnangagwa and Nelson Chamisa in next month’s election were shattered by the courts amid claims he lives permanently abroad.
But chatter on Twitter suggests most feel the firebrand politician is finally getting his just deserts after years of fueling graft and oppression under Robert Mugabe’s reign of terror.
One user quipped: “If there is nothing amiss in the acquisition of your wealth why are you bothered? Are you the first person to be looked into by ZACC?”
Another said: “After all is said and done mdara this is the system you inherited and made worse…You are now on the other side, you see how it hurts to be persecuted and oppressed right????”
Only time will tell if ZACC’s sh0ck swoop will finally bring the riches and intrigues inside Kasukuwere’s opulent palace into the harsh light of day – and justice.
