A 42-year-old security guard was found dead on Monday at CBZ FMG Msasa in Harare, Zimbabwe. Chamunorwa Charuma, who worked for Gilta Security, had been deployed alone with his guard dog on Sunday evening. His body was discovered by a fellow security guard, Phellomina Tamai, who had come to take over the day’s duty from him.
According to Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, Chamunorwa’s trousers were found at knee length. His guard dog was found locked in a cage nearby. The police have not yet released any information regarding the cause of death and are currently awaiting a post-mortem examination at Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary.
In another suspected case of murder, an unidentified body was found on a garbage heap in the same area. The body was discovered by a tyre repair’s client who was walking around while the tyre was being fixed. The police have also taken this body to Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary.
The incidents have caused concern among residents in the area and have raised questions about the safety of security guards who work alone. The police have appealed to the public for any information that may help with their investigations.
