A 23-YEAR-OLD employee with Arenel Company in Bulawayo has appeared in court on allegations of stealing from his employer.
Shepherd Ncube from Old Magwegwe suburb appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa charged with theft.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded out of custody to 28 July for trial.
Circumstances are that sometime in February, Ncube is alleged to have left his place of operation and went on to steal a brass metal part weighing 6kgs that was in another room.
It is reported that he took the metal part in a bucket and went with it towards the toilet where he allegedly hid it.
It is reported that while committing the offence he was seen by one of the employees who is a boilermaker who then reported the matter to their superiors.
The matter was later reported at ZRP Donnington leading to the arrest of Ncube.
The value of the stolen property is US$4 070 and it was not recovered.
