A 42-YEAR-OLD man from Bulawayo’s Mzilikazi suburb has appeared in court facing charges of assaulting his 32-year-old live-in girlfriǝnd.
Mkhululi Ndlovu appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa charged with assault.
He pleaded guilty and was remanded out of custody to 3 August for sentencing.
It was proved in court that on 24 June and at around 7pm Ndlovu went home and upon arrival he did not find his girlfriǝnd Kwanele Khumalo.
The court heard that when Khumalo later came back home at around 8pm, Ndlovu asked her where she had been and Khumalo told her that she had gone to visit her friends.
That, however, didn’t go down well with Ndlovu leading to a misunderstanding between the two parties.
It is reported that in a fit of anger Ndlovu severely assaulted Khumalo with fists before he struck her with a sharp object leading her to sustain injuries on the head and left eye.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Ndlovu and his subsequent appearance in court.
