Police in Mubaira are investigating a murder case in which a 65-year-old man was killed after being assaulted with an axe. Vimbai Mapininga died on July 22 after Doubt Dzama attacked him at a homestead in Tafara Village, Mhondoro.
According to police, Dzama accused Mapininga of having an ɑffɑir with his wife before assaulting him with an axe on the head and leg. Dzama then fled the scene.
Separately, police in Karoi are appealing for information regarding the death of an 18-year-old Blessing Chidzara found in a ditch along Kachichi River in Mamwi on July 23.
The body had bruises around the neck.
Investigations are ongoing in both cases. Police are urging anyone with information that could assist their investigations to come forward. The recent spike in violent crimes has raised concerns from the public about safety and security in the villages.
