A Dzivaresekwa woman endured a brutal double attack after her cheɑting husbɑnd and his mistress joined forces to assault her.
Patience Chipo Muchakanji was granted a protection order against her violent husband Kundai Shirichena, and a peace order against his girlfriǝnd Esther Mkandla.
“I asked my husband about his girlfriǝnd and he lied, saying he’d left her. But I found them standing together at our gate,” said Patience.
“When I confronted them, Esther interrupted, saying my husband has the right to see her. We fought and my husband dragged and slapped me, causing head injuries,” Patience revealed.
Esther denied Patience’s version, claiming “She’s the one who came to my house to insult and assault me. Her affidavit is false.”
But Kundai finally admitted the truth in court. “Esther is my girlfriǝnd and I lied to my wife,” he said. “I slapped Patience. My wife chased me from home after finding out I was dɑting Esther.”
Kundai revealed he’d been handing Esther money because “she had vacated her premises after Patience and my sister-in-law assaulted her.”
Patience’s brutal double attack shows how vicious cheɑting spouses and their accomplices can become – and why protection orders are needed to save victims from further harm.
