A jealous ex-b0yfriend has been arrested for brutally murdering his l0ve rival in Epworth, Harare.
Wenset Charuzika (35) attacked Andrew Choga and Praise Muchemwa with a blunt object, leaving Choga dead and Muchemwa seriously injured.
It is alleged that on July 8, Charuzika went to a bar where he saw his ex-girlfriǝnd Muchemwa with Choga. An argument broke out when Charuzika offered to buy Muchemwa a beer but she refused.
Later that night, Charuzika lay in wait for the couple as they walked home and viciously attacked them from behind, cops say.
A good Samaritan found the battered victims and rushed them to the police station. Choga was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead on arrival, while Muchemwa regained consciousness and was also hospitalized.
Charuzika was arrested and denied bail when he appeared in court charged with Choga’s murder.
Court heard Charuzika has a criminal past, having previously served time in prison for theft.
Prosecutors say Muchemwa’s refusal of Charuzika’s beer offer prompted the brutal attack. Whatever his motive, this jeɑlous ex has landed himself in hot water for a cold-blooded crime of passion.
