A l0ve triangle turned violent when a 22-year-old woman named Shamiso Acid was attacked by the wife of her alleged l0ver in Glendale, Mashonaland Central province.
Philda Pamela Makuwa, 26, and two other women confronted Shamiso while she was with Makuwa’s husbɑnd near Glendale Corner Bar on February 1.
During the confrontation, a scuffle broke out, and reports suggest the women assaulted Shamiso using their fists and open hands. However, Makuwa took it a step further and allegedly bit off about half of Shamiso’s right ear.
Shamiso reported the incident to the police, leading to Makuwa’s arrest. Makuwa later appeared before Concession magistrate Joshua Nembaware, where she pleaded guilty to assault. She was then sentenced to pay US$200 or serve four months in prison.
In mitigation, Makuwa pleaded for a lenient sentence, citing that she had a three-week-old child and had sustained injuries during birth.
