Woman nearly killed by b0yfriend in horrific domestic violence attack over cellphone

A 26-YEAR-OLD woman cheated death by a whisker after her alleged l0ver brutally assaulted her with fists on the face and struck her with a coffee mug before he repeatedly stabbed her with a broken water glass on the head following a misunderstanding over a cellphone.

This was heard when Talent Chaimatebu (25) appeared before Concession magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing charges of physical abuse.

He was not asked to plead and was remanded to 26 June.

Circumstances are that on 15 June and at around 3.30pm at Hermiston Farm in Mashonaland Central province Zakuni Ruvika had a misunderstanding with her alleged l0ver Chaimatebu after he sold her cellphone without her knowledge.

It is reported that at the height of the misunderstanding Ruvika told Chaimatebu to leave her house.

As she was packing his bags, Chaimatebu approached her and started assaulting her with fists on the face before he strangled her.

Chaimatebu went on to hit her on the head with a coffee mug before he repeatedly stabbed her on the head with a broken water glass.

Sensing danger, Dunmore Bhaureni and other neighbours came and rescued Ruvika.

After the attack Ruvika who sustained injuries went and reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of Chaimatebu and his subsequent appearance in court.
