2023 ELECTIONS: The people’s party Zanu PF takes early lead…19 candidates disqualified in Bulawayo

0

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has released the list of candidates for Parliamentary seats in Bulawayo, and it’s shaping up to be a battle between Zanu-PF and the opposition Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC). But the CCC is already playing dirty with their fielding of double candidates in two constituencies: Pelandaba-Tshabalala and Pumula.

The opposition’s DNA seems to include double candidates, but it may not pay off in the end. 19 candidates were disqualified for failing to pay nomination fees.

Meanwhile, Zanu-PF is already in the early election lead after securing all the 10 seats for the Provincial Council as it is the only party to field candidates for quota.

Will CCC’s risky strategy pay off, or will Zanu-PF continue its dominance? Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming Zimbabwean election.
