THE fight between a doctor stationed at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo and his former workmate who is also a medical doctor over a woman has taken a new twist after the former applied for a peace order against the latter accusing him of harassing and assaulting him as well as threatening to abduct him.
Selby Muchini Kaiboni claimed he has endured tough times at the hands of his former colleague Tendai Chadambuka.
Kaiboni said since last year Chadambuka has been harassing him and assaulting him on different occasions.
He further said most recently Chadambuka confronted him at his place at the doctors’ quarters at Mpilo Central Hospital and assaulted him.
He said after that he seized his phone and browsed through the chats. He further claimed Chadambuka attacked him at his workplace and threatened to abduct him.
After that, he said, he had to move out to stay at a place that Chadambuka does not know.
His affidavit reads in part: “I’m applying for a peace order against Tendai Chadambuka. He has been harassing, and assaulting me and on many occasions, he has threatened to abduct me.
“He unlawfully entered my place of residence and forcefully gained access to my phone and browsed through the chats.
“Quite recently he grabbed me by my neck and assaulted me while I was in the theatre operating a patient. He pushed me while threatening to abduct me. Due to fear that he would abduct me I have since moved out from doctors’ quarters to another place that he doesn’t know.”
The presiding magistrate Maxwell Ncube granted Kaiboni a peace order. Chadambuka was ordered to keep peace towards the applicant and even at his workplace. Chadambuka was also ordered not to visit Kaiboni at his new home.
