Zanu PF confident of victory in August elections despite economic sabotage attempts

The ruling Zanu PF party remains confident of victory in Zimbabwe’s upcoming elections despite attempts by opponents to sabotage the country’s economy. President Emmerson Mnangagwa said at a recent Politburo meeting that malicious schemes by detractors to reverse Zimbabwe’s developmental progress through currency manipulation and price distortions will not succeed. Perpetrators of these schemes will face consequences, he added.

Despite currency and price instability, President Mnangagwa said the government will continue with its socio-economic development programs to alleviate poverty. The party’s election preparation is ongoing, with candidates trained and ready. Zanu PF will launch its election manifesto, outlining its vision and plans.

The president called on media outlets to report fairly on the government’s achievements and debunk falsehoods spread by detractors. While acknowledging that economic hardships exist, he said Zanu PF is delivering on its promises and developing the country using domestic resources.

President Mnangagwa urged party members to educate voters and familiarize them with the ballot paper features. The ruling party is focused and confident of victory in the August elections.
