A tragic accident occurred on Saturday afternoon along the Bulawayo-Harare highway, where a vehicle carrying mourners veered off the road, resulting in the death of three passengers.
The deceased were on their from Kadoma after attending the burial of a relative who has committed suicide by hanging. The accident left 15 other passengers seriously injured.
The Toyota Hilux vehicle, carrying 17 passengers in total, reportedly veered off to the left, causing it to overturn and land on its left side. Unfortunately, the three passengers were killed instantly, while the injured were rushed to Kadoma General Hospital for treatment.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the incident in a tweet, stating that the deceased were taken to the mortuary for post mortem, and the injured were being treated for various injuries at the same hospital.
