A disagreement over a tent led to violence and injury for a 35-year-old man. Polite Moyo, from Bulawayo province, has been accused of assaulting Fungai Mutokonyi.
According to the accusation, the incident happened on May 21, 2023 at Hidden Secret Mine in Umguza district. Moyo approached Mutokonyi and accused him of opening his tent. The two men got into a heated argument.
During the argument, Moyo allegedly picked up a pot and hit Mutokonyi on the head three times. He then picked up a stone and hit Mutokonyi once on the head. Moyo proceeded to take a log and hit Mutokonyi repeatedly all over his body.
Mutokonyi managed to escape and hid in nearby bushes. He later reported the matter to police, who arrested Moyo after investigating.
Moyo appeared in court and was not allowed to enter a plea. He was remanded in custody until June 7.
