The Zimbabwe Republic Police have launched a search for a man suspected of murdering his wife in Mount Hampden on Sunday.
According to a statement by ZRP, 53-year-old Alexander Gezi is accused of brutally killing his wife Rita Rore at their Flame Flora Farm home. Police allege that Gezi struck Rore over the head with a hoe, causing injuries that led to her death at the scene.
Officers say the suspected motive for the murder was Gezi accusing Rore of infidel!ty.
The tragic murder comes at a time when Zimbabwe has seen a recent rise in homicide cases. Rore’s death highlights the ongoing issues of domestic violence in the country.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing. Officers are urging anyone with information on Gezi’s whereabouts to come forward to aid in his arrest.
