A 22-year-old woman from Bulawayo was left with scars and wounds all over her body following a horrific assault allegedly at the hands of her husband, a 35-year-old soldier.
Shynewell Ndlovu arrived home and flew into a rage when his wife Bonginkosi Dube delayed opening the door for him.
He violently ordered her to pack up and leave their home before violently pushing her outside and slapping her repeatedly.
But the brutal assault didn’t stop there. Prosecutors say Ndlovu then picked up a brick and fan stand and used them to hit his wife all over her body, leaving her scarred and bleeding.
Bonginkosi sought medical help at Mpilo Hospital and a medical report confirming the extent of her injuries was presented in court. Ndlovu, a soldier stationed at 4 Brigade in Masvingo, has been charged with physical abuse and remanded on bail, but faces a lengthy prison sentence if convicted of the sh0cking assault.
