Police in Kariba are investigating a violent armed robbery that left a man critically injured. According to police statements, two unknown suspects stabbed the victim in the throat and stole $5 from him after attacking him from behind.
The incident occurred on May 17, 2023 at the Nyamhunga Sewer Plant in Kariba. Police said the two assailants first hit the complainant on the back with an unknown object before stabbing him in the throat with a knife. They then stole $5 from the injured man before fleeing.
The police statement referred to the incident as an “attempted murder” case, indicating the victim was left in serious condition. Police have launched a manhunt for the two suspects but have not released any details about possible leads or identification of the attackers.
Investigating officers are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in locating and arresting the perpetrators. Anyone with relevant information has been asked to report to the nearest police station.
