Dear Aunty Lisa,
I recently fell in l0ve with a beɑutiful girl on Facebook and I trusted her so much that I sent her US$200. However, after sending her the money, she blocked me. I am fǝǝling very hurt and betrayed, and I don’t know what to do.
I thought she was different from all the other people who were trying to scam me online, but it turns out she was just like them.
Please help me, Aunty Lisa. I don’t know how to move on from this experience and I don’t want to fall for the same trap again. How can I recover my money?
Sincerely,
Heartbroken

Aunty Lisa responds:
Dear Heartbroken,
I am sorry to hear that you have been scammed by someone you trusted.
Unfortunately, this is a common experience for many people who are looking for l0ve online. It’s important to be cautious when interacting with strangers on the internet, especially when it comes to sending money.
In the future, make sure you take the time to get to know someone before sending them money. It’s also a good idea to do some research on the person to make sure they are who they say they are.
As for the money you’ve already sent, it’s unlikely that you will be able to get it back. It’s best to learn from this experience and move on. Don’t let this one bad experience stop you from finding true l0ve in the future, but be more careful about who you trust.
Take care,
Aunty Lisa
