Harare – Bishop Andrew Wutawunashe, the founder and leader of the Family of God Church (FOG), has made a surprising appeal to his congregation, urging them to pray for outspoken war veteran Blessed Runesu ‘Bombshell’ Geza. This call comes amidst rising tensions in Zimbabwe, with Geza’s planned protests prompting a strong response from both the government and religious leaders.
Just last week, Wutawunashe publicly denounced the growing calls for protests, warning that people would be “attempting to crucify their own liberator,” referring to President Emmerson Mnangagwa. However, in a shift of focus, Wutawunashe used his Sunday service to highlight Geza’s potential role in the nation’s future.
“There is one man we left out, and today I want you to pray for him. This man fought for the liberation of this country, amen, and at some point, when he saw the problems which pained him, he decided just like his name—that this country needs a bath,” Wutawunashe told his congregation.
He continued, “Deep in the heart of that man is something that just says this country needs a bath, that’s why his name is Geza. And today, Comrade Geza, we want you to know that we appreciate all the sacrifices you did for our nation and the desires you have that the wrongs to the things that are negative, may be righted in our nation.”
MaCdes, nyaya ndiyo ndiyo tomorrow, no looking back. Lets fill up the streets. Mnangagwa Must Go.
This has been blessed by God. thank you Rev Wutaunashe for your solidarity statement.

Geza’s calls for protests have sparked alarm across Zimbabwe, leading state security agencies to deploy officers, water cannons, and patrol trucks in anticipation of potential unrest. President Mnangagwa has also appealed for peace during these “trying times,” which are perceived as a direct threat to his leadership.
Meanwhile, the planned protests have also drawn the attention of international religious figures. Renowned Nigerian televangelist Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has called for a special prayer and fasting programme in Zimbabwe ahead of the March 31 demonstrations.
Speaking during a Global Day of Prayer, Pastor Chris urged his followers to pray for Zimbabwe, emphasising its importance in Africa.
“Zimbabwe is an important country in Africa. It may not be very large. It is not a very big country, but it’s a very important country. And we are not going to let the devil tear it down or take over it. That is our interest. We will expel the demons that are trying to do it and break their powers in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let there be peace in Zimbabwe, and with peace, there will be prosperity,” Pastor Chris declared.
However, Pastor Chris cautioned against participating in the demonstrations, labelling them as “satanic protests.”
“Don’t allow those who are deceiving you or deceiving the people, convincing anyone that they have solutions. They don’t have solutions. They just want power. So far, you have had relative peace in your country. They don’t like it. But there is a greater power than the one they know about. Don’t destroy the country. Don’t listen to those who are telling you ‘go out in the streets,’ but where are they? Will they go in the streets? They won’t. Refuse this satanic protest!” he added.
Adding to the atmosphere of religious fervour, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has called for a nationwide fast in Zimbabwe on Sunday, March 31, 2025. Oyakhilome claims the country is under threat from “Satan’s modus operandi” due to the planned demonstration on the same day, which he warns will not be peaceful and risks plunging the nation into chaos.
Adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding events, Zimbabwean preacher and diplomat Prophet Uebert Angel cancelled his much-hyped “Prophetic Service” just hours after rescheduling it. The cancellation sparked speculation that Angel may be reacting to mounting pressure following a blistering address by Geza.
Earlier in the day, Angel had taken to X (formerly Twitter) to update followers that the service—originally slated for Thursday—would instead be held on Friday, 28 March at the Harare Hippodrome.
However, hours later, the very same event poster resurfaced online with a large red banner stamped “CANCELLED.” Social media influencer @LynneStactia posted the update with the caption: “Ichi Chigananda chatiza nechimwe chacho chiye Branson! He is now Ambassador At Large 4 sho!!” – suggesting Angel, alongside fellow preacher Ed Branson, is evading scrutiny under the cover of diplomatic immunity.
