Harare – While Wicknell Chivayo celebrates finding love with his new wife Lucy Muteke, simmering tensions with his ex-wife, Sonja Madzikanda, threaten to erupt as she vows to expose his “dirtiest secrets” if he fails to honour their divorce settlement.
Despite appearing to endorse Chivayo’s new relationship in December, Madzikanda recently unleashed a fiery rant on Instagram, suggesting that she still harbours resentment towards her former husband. The pair announced their separation early last year, and the fallout continues to play out publicly.
Madzikanda’s outburst appears to stem from an alleged failure by Chivayo to fulfil an undisclosed settlement agreement. She warned the businessman that if he doesn’t comply, she’s prepared to reveal details of their relationship.
“Leave my friends alone, and don’t be surprised. Remember I told you. I was like, ‘if you don’t settle with me, we gonna take this public and we gonna get Lulu and your relatives to put you under pressure to do the need for.’ Remember I told you before all this drama. Wicknell, you’d been forewarned,” Sonja stated in her online tirade.
Madzikanda also dismissed Chivayo’s claims that her friends were responsible for the breakdown of their marriage, challenging him to provide evidence.
“Do not try to blame my friends saying they’re the reason why the marriage broke down. Do you want me to post some screenshots? Do you want me to post some pictures? Do you want me to post some things you were doing in the marriage?” she asked.
She went on to suggest that Chivayo is still not over her, claiming that he begged her to reconcile for months after she publicly ended their relationship.
“Wicknell, till this day, cannot believe that I dumped him publicly. He was begging for months. He was like, ‘Just publicly apologise and then we can go back together.’ I’m interested in you and I’ve said that enough times and you’re in shock,” she claimed.
In a video, Sonja vents her frustrations, making it clear that she’s ready to take further action if necessary.
Wicknell Chivayo, on the other hand, wants Sonja Madzikanda to stay away from Moreblessing Chivayo completely. He made it clear she has no business advising anybody from the Chivayo family. According to him, people need to watch out for who they let into their personal lives. He believes when someone allows friends to mess with their relationship, problems start happening fast.
Wicknell thinks Sonja just craves attention from everybody around her. He pointed out how she constantly makes those live videos, looking for people to feel sorry for her. The businessman seemed pretty frustrated about the entire situation between them. Many folks noticed his comments came after Sonja threatened to share his secrets unless he signed settlement papers.
The public argument between these two continues heating up daily. Previously, Sonja claimed she dumped Wicknell because he wasn’t “man enough” for her. She mentioned waiting for him to complete financial arrangements before moving forward. Their messy breakup keeps drawing lots of attention from social media users across Zimbabwe.
Wicknell appears concerned about protecting his family members from what he sees as outside interference. He clearly wants to keep Moreblessing separated from anything involving Sonja going forward. Their conflict represents another chapter in what has become a very public separation. Both parties continue sharing details that many people might consider private matters.
In December, Madzikanda seemed to give her endorsement for Chivayo to marry again.
“If he has moved on and has found love and wants to be a better guy for this chic, then to be honest with you, we should all clap hands and say well done. I am happy that he launched this because now anything to do with him in 2025 has nothing to do with me. I think that Lulu girl is absolutely beautiful, I used to bake scones for her. I am sure her and Wicknell will make a lovely couple and if it ends in marriage good for them,” she said.
Over the weekend Chivayo paid roora (bride price) for Lulu at her family’s home in Marondera.
