Chaos at Mabvuku school as Form 4 boys fight over a hot female teacher: ‘Muriwo uyu inyama, ndewangu’

Harare – Last week, Mabvuku witnessed a bizarre incident that has left many residents speechless.

According to Bulawayo 24, pupils from Form 4C at a local secondary school engaged in a chaotic brawl, sparked by the arrival of a new female teacher, Ms Ethel Nakamba. The fight, described by witnesses as a scene of “insanity,” involved two rival gangs known for their troublemaking in the area.

The incident began seemingly innocuously. As Ms Nakamba introduced herself to the class, whispers of admiration rippled through the room. The phrase “muriwo uyu inyama, ndewangu” – street slang meaning “this woman is hot, she’s mine” – was overheard. After the introduction, the boys, captivated by Ms Nakamba’s appearance, continued their comments, escalating the situation.

One boy boldly declared Ms Nakamba as “his,” prompting laughter from most of the class. However, another student challenged this claim, highlighting the first boy’s lack of resources, igniting a heated argument. The verbal sparring quickly devolved into physical violence, with the two boys pushing each other. The situation rapidly spiralled out of control.

The fight spilled out of the classroom, escalating into a full-blown brawl involving numerous pupils. The noise and commotion attracted attention from passersby and teachers who eventually intervened to separate the fighting students. The incident highlighted the deeply rooted gang rivalries within the school.

Police swiftly responded, arresting four students. One officer, determined to understand the root cause of the disturbance, insisted on meeting Ms Nakamba before leaving the scene, confirming that sufficient evidence existed to support the arrests.
