Two haulage truck drivers employed by TOP Channel, Richard Ncube (48) and Alex Moyo (22), appeared before Harare magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa on Thursday, facing charges of aggravated indecent assault. The pair were remanded in custody until November 19th for a bail application.
The charges stem from an incident on November 10th, when a male passenger boarded their truck in Halfway, Chegutu. The passenger, whose identity is being withheld, was travelling to Chitungwiza via Harare.
Upon arriving in Harare, the truck, driven by Ncube with Moyo as his assistant, stopped at Zim Meal Company in Waterfalls. The complainant remained in the passenger seat and fell asleep while waiting for sunrise.
It is alleged that Ncube then removed the complainant’s clothing and began to caress his body. The complainant protested, stating he was not interested. At this point, Moyo allegedly intervened, producing a gun-like object and threatening the complainant with violence if he did not cooperate.
According to court documents, Ncube subsequently applied petroleum jelly to the complainant’s backside before allegedly performing oral sex and anal intercourse without the complainant’s consent.
Following the alleged assault, the complainant, unfamiliar with the area, spent the night in the truck. The following morning, he reported the incident to ZRP Mbare, leading to the arrest of both Ncube and Moyo.
