Nyanhanga’s contributions to Zimbabwean media landscape were significant. In 2009 he established ZimOnline Radio, a platform that provided a vital space for news dissemination, public discourse, and political analysis, particularly valuable for Zimbabweans both at home and in the diaspora. His work extended beyond ZimOnline; he also spearheaded the Miss Zimbabwe UK pageant, showcasing Zimbabwean talent on an international stage.

Through his various roles, he became a powerful voice in advocating for media freedom.
The news of Nyanhanga’s passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from across the country and beyond. His nephew, Sir Titus VeTech, shared a deeply personal account on social media, highlighting his uncle’s unwavering support and loyalty.
“In 2018 I got suspended from ZRP High after opening a large one. I called my brother, and he in turn called Daddy Simba. We all knew ndakaenda kumba my Dad would kill me twice. He came and took me, we went home together and stood up for me saying ‘mwana ndozvavanoita’, and I spent the next 2 weeks of suspension staying with him. I could always depend on him. Sorry I wasn’t there for you in your last moments Dad🤦🏽. RIP Simba the king maker🤝🏽,” he wrote.
This touching tribute underscores Nyanhanga’s role as a steadfast family member, always ready to offer support and guidance.
Academic and author Charlton Tsodzo offered another perspective on Nyanhanga’s complex character, acknowledging both his loved and loathed aspects. “Am really sorry to hear about the untimely loss of mkoma Simba ‘The Kingmaker’ Nyanhanga….. one of the pioneers of Zimbabwean online radio…great ideas man…sharp entrepreneur…..he was loved and hated in equal measure… …many of his friends blocked/ unblocked him …ghosted/unghosted him on socials and in real life several times) ” because he was stubborn and often a pain in the ass. “…but ultimately he was a good man..who stood by what he believed in …and meant well …..cared about his family and was also a genuine, sincere lover of people,” he wrote. This candid assessment reflects the multifaceted nature of the man, a figure who inspired strong reactions, both positive and negative, but ultimately left a lasting impact.
The void left by Nyanhanga’s passing extends beyond his immediate family and friends. His dedication to media freedom and his commitment to providing a platform for diverse voices will be sorely missed.
