Chinhoyi – A 26-year-old man from Rujeko, Chinhoyi, is facing charges of indecent assault after allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in the boot of a mushikashika.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the incident occurred on July 13, 2024, around 6:00 PM.
The victim and her mother were traveling in a Honda Fit to their home in Chinhoyi when the assault took place. The victim was seated in the boot of the car with the accused.
The NPAZ said in a statement on X that the accused “inserted his right hand inside the complainant’s skirt and touched her private parts four times. He also caressed her thighs twice without her consent. He offered the complainant a USD1 note, but she refused.”
The victim reported the incident to her mother upon disembarking from the vehicle. A police report was subsequently filed, leading to the arrest of the accused.
