A chilling tale of jealousy and violence has unfolded in Silobela, where a 46-year-old man, Felix Chingama, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his own uncle, Prosper Munanzvi (55), after suspecting him of having a lula lula with his wife.

The incident, which occurred in Kombora Village on August 17, has left Silobela villagers grappling with the brutal reality of domestic violence and the devastating consequences of unchecked rage.

According to police reports, Chingama allegedly struck Munanzvi with a brick on the head, before repeatedly hitting him with a log, leaving the victim dead at the scene.

The motive behind the attack is believed to be a simmering suspicion that Munanzvi was having an affair with Chingama’s wife. Incidences of women having sex with their husbands’ uncles seem to be on the rise.

The alleged infidelity, if proven, would have been a betrayal of trust and a deeply personal affront to Chingama, leading to a violent outburst that ended in tragedy.

The arrest of Chingama comes amidst a growing concern over domestic violence in Zimbabwe.

Cases of violence within families, often stemming from jealousy, infidelity, or other personal conflicts, are becoming increasingly common, highlighting the need for greater awareness and support for victims.

In a separate incident that occurred in Magada, Stopover, Epworth on August 18, a 19-year-old woman was found dead after the room she was in was set on fire.

The victim’s husband, Brian Gorosvipa Muzanenhamo, is being sought in connection with the case. He is still on the run, and police are appealing for information that may lead to his arrest.

The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are still under investigation, but the incident underscores the alarming trend of violence against women in Zimbabwe.

The police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Muzanenhamo to come forward and assist in bringing him to justice.
