A chilling tale has emerged from the rural community of Mukumbura are in Mt Darwin, where a snake is said to have escorted the body of an elderly woman to her final resting place.
The incident occurred following the death of Gogo Irene Chiundiza (70), a villager of Kaitano village, who passed away last week. Her body was transported back to her village for burial, but it was during this solemn journey that the extraordinary event unfolded.
According to Evelyn Marundu (71), a relative of the deceased, a snake appeared in front of the car carrying Gogo Chiundiza’s body, sending shivers down the spines of those present. The serpent, seemingly unperturbed by the commotion, slithered alongside the vehicle for a short distance before disappearing into a nearby graveyard.
Adding to the eerie atmosphere, Gogo Chiundiza’s brother was allegedly attacked by unseen forces the night before her funeral. He was left speechless and remains unwell to this day.
The family is understandably shaken by these events, desperately seeking answers to the inexplicable occurrences. The snake’s presence, they believe, is a sign of something sinister, and they are deeply concerned for the well-being of the deceased’s brother, who is still suffering from the mysterious attack.
Sekuru Erelero Koti (74), the deceased’s brother, confirmed hearing about the snake, although he was unable to attend the funeral due to his own illness. He expressed deep concern about his sister’s life, revealing that she had been accused of witchcraft by her husband and others. He also shared that his twin granddaughters had died mysteriously, and a grandson had been bitten by a snake and died.
Sekuru Koti believes his family needs help, particularly in understanding the events surrounding his sister’s death. He is also deeply worried about the well-being of his other grandchildren, who were taken away by their relatives for supposed treatment and have not been seen since.
The deceased’s son, Chajai Chiundiza, refused to comment on the events surrounding his mother’s death, stating that he does not want the story to be published.
The family is left grappling with the unexplained events, desperately seeking answers to the mysterious happenings surrounding Gogo Chiundiza’s death. The snake’s presence, the brother’s unexplained illness, and the tragic deaths of the grandchildren have left the family in a state of shock and bewilderment.
