In a disturbing incident, two male teenagers in Harare have found themselves in hot water after a brutal fight over a talented prostitute left one man dead and the two teenagers facing murder charges.
According to ZRP spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the two suspects, aged 17 and 16, attacked Nelson Chiripanyanga (33) with their fists and an unknown sharp object after an argument over a sex worker. Commissioner Nyathi revealed that the incident occurred in Southlea Park, and the police are currently investigating the case of murder.
“Police in Southlea Park are investigating a case of murder in which two male juveniles, aged 17 and 16, attacked to death the victim, Nelson Chiripanyanga (33) with fists and an unknown sharp object after an argument over a lady of the night,” confirmed Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson, in a statement.
The two teenagers, who cannot be named due to their age, are currently in police custody, awaiting their first court appearance.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, police in Marondera have arrested a suspected mental patient, Knowledge Kapesa (36), in connection with a case of murder that occurred at Rasternburg Farm on July 27, 2024.
Kapesa is alleged to have struck his father, Manuel Kapesa (76), with stones on the head after he refused to give him sweet potatoes. The victim died on the spot.
