In a recent turn of events, controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo has found himself at the center of a scandal involving leaked flirty Instagram chats with several women, including the wives of prominent religious figures. The alleged leaked chats have caused quite a stir on social media, with many expressing their shock and disappointment.

The leaked screenshots show intimate and flirtatious exchanges between Chivayo and Maxine Adam, wife of Prophet Edd Branson. In one of the messages, Chivayo declares his love for Maxine, saying, “I love you too much.” The screenshots also reveal that Maxine instructed Chivayo to present a car as a gift intended for “Mai Pastor” and to convince Prophet Branson to hand over the present to her, creating the illusion of a surprise.

The revelation of the affair has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many calling out Chivayo for his alleged infidelity and disrespect towards Prophet Branson and his wife. Some have criticized the businessman for using his wealth and influence to manipulate women, while others have defended him, saying that his personal life should not be scrutinized.

In response to the allegations, Chivayo took to his Instagram account to deny the authenticity of the leaked chats, claiming that they are fake and part of an extortion attempt. He also expressed his shock and dismay at the recent flood of screenshots circulating on social media, which he claims are falsely attributed to his Instagram account.

“I have been appalled that over the last few days, almost every social media platform has been awash with screenshots purportedly taken from my Instagram account. I disassociate myself from these fake screenshots and dismiss them in their entirety as nothing more than malicious fabrications being sponsored by criminals who realized that their attempt to extort me was dismally unsuccessful,” Chivayo said in a statement.

He went on to claim that the screenshots were generated by fake social media accounts impersonating him and that he would take legal action against those responsible for the leaks.

“I extend my DEEPEST APOLOGIES to all those individuals, known and unknown to me, who have been adversely affected by these FAKE messages and regret the damage that this may have caused them, their partners or families. I particularly share my SINCERE remorse to PROPHET DR EDD BRANSON, his family and Church for the anxiety which these PROVOCATIVE and DEFAMATORY, yet UNTRUTHFUL messages may have caused. I accord him the highest level of respect and regret that his name has been drawn into these controversies,” Chivayo said.

He added: “I UNDERTAKE to do everything necessary to VINDICATE myself, Prophet Edd Branson, Pastor Chari, and all the notable public figures whose names have been brought into disrepute by these mischievous Instagram impersonators peddling UNACCEPTABLE falsehoods. ENOUGH SAID.”

Despite Chivayo’s denials, many remain skeptical of his claims. Some have pointed out that the leaked screenshots appear to be genuine, while others have criticized him for attempting to silence his critics.

Meanwhile, Prophet Edd Branson has yet to comment on the matter. It remains to be seen whether the alleged affair will have any impact on his relationship with his wife or his standing in the religious community.

Regardless of the outcome, one thing is clear: the leaked chats have sparked a conversation about the role of social media in exposing infidelity and the consequences of using technology to manipulate others.

As the debate continues, one can only hope that those involved will find a way to move forward and learn from this experience.

It is worth noting that Chivayo’s ex-wife Sonja Madzikanda had predicted that he would deny the authenticity of the leaked screenshots and blame artificial intelligence (AI) for the leaks.

This is similar to what Chivayo did when the Zimbabwe Election Commission (ZEC) US$100 million scandal was first reported by News Hawks, which saw his supposed WhatsApp voice notes with his fellow troubled businessmen Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu going viral.

Despite Chivayo’s denials, the leaked screenshots have caused significant damage to his reputation and have raised questions about his character.
