Buhera man (32) convicted of raping his own young daughter (5)
In a shocking case of child ƨǝxuɑl abuse, a 32-year-old man from Chief Nyashanu in Buhera has been convicted of raping his 5-year-old daughter. The heinous act came to light after the young victim’s aunt noticed the child’s unusual gait and lack of undergarments.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the disturbing incident took place on January 26, 2024. The accused man returned home and instructed his young daughter to remove her underwear, which she complied with. He then used saliva and a piece of soap as a lubricant before proceeding to rape the child. The victim’s cries for help were muffled as the perpetrator covered her mouth with his hand.
It was only when the child’s aunt observed her unusual physical condition that the truth of the matter was uncovered. Upon further questioning, the young girl revealed that her own father had ƨǝxuɑlly assaulted her. A police report was promptly filed, leading to the arrest of the accused.
The Rusape Magistrates’ Court has now found the man guilty of the heinous crime. He is set to be sentenced on June 26th for his deplorable actions against his own vulnerable daughter.
