A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing, rɑping, and robbing a woman in a bushy area near Jimila Business Centre in Matabeleland North province.
The suspect, Butholezwe Ncube, reportedly followed the victim as she was walking home from the business centre, grabbed her by the hand, and stabbed her on the shoulder before dragging her into a nearby bush where he allegedly rɑpǝd her. After the assault, Ncube allegedly robbed the victim of R150 and instructed her to leave.
The victim later reported the incident to her brother and other villagers, who apprehended Ncube and handed him over to the police. Ncube is now facing three charges of attempted murder, rɑpǝ, and robbery and is set to appear at the Bulawayo regional court.
The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with many urging authorities to take action to prevent such heinous acts from happening in the future. The police have encouraged members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour.
