A MAN who was accused of touching his l0ver’s child’s privɑtǝ parts while bathing her before he allegedly rɑpǝd her cried in court when a magistrate acquitted him.

Peter Muleya (51) from Lobengula West suburb stood in the dock and looked emotionally overwhelmed before Western Commonage Court magistrate Shepherd Mnjanja as he faced an indecent assault and rɑpǝ charge.

In arriving at the sentence the magistrate considered that during the trial the child changed her statement as she said Muleya bathed her from head to the chest only and never touched her privɑtǝ parts. The magistrate also noted that the child’s mother was Muleya’s l0ver and was once his wife’s friend when they were co-tenants.

The magistrate also noted that the mother of the child leveled the accusations against him after he evicted her and her child from his home. However, after a full trial, he was acquitted.

After that Muleya, who looked dejected, broke down in tears and said his former l0ver wanted to see him behind bars.

Allegations against Muleya were that when the mother of the child left her 12-year-old in his care, he pulled a sh0cker as he str!pped her nɑked and bathed her.

It was alleged that while bathing her he touched her privɑtǝ parts several times and rɑped her. When the victim’s mother returned home, the court heard, the minor related the sickening incident to her mother. The mother reported the incident to the police leading to her former l0ver’s arrest.
