Zimbabwean hip hop star Holy Ten is facing a public backlash after his ex-girlfriend, Chelsea Hlomayi, accused him of exploiting their sick son for promotional material for his new album, ‘Proud Father.’ The allegations, shared on social media yesterday, quickly went viral, sparking a heated debate amongst fans and observers, H-Metro has reported.

Hlomayi’s explosive claims detail how Holy Ten and his wife, Kimberly, allegedly requested to use their son, Mufaro, for a photoshoot for the album cover, despite knowing he was unwell. She alleges that the couple’s actions were motivated by a desire to avoid criticism for featuring only one child on the album cover. In a scathing social media post, Hlomayi wrote: “My son is not a prop!”

She further elaborated on the situation, stating: “It’s very unfortunate that you would choose to exploit a sick child to create content. A child you have neglected since he was born, you didn’t want to face criticism from your fans and the public ma poster cover with only one child.

“You came to me and said ‘can I borrow Mufaro’ for a few hours for the album cover. Even though you knew he was sick at the time, I was fine with the album cover being done, that’s my child’s inheritance but some of the content dzaakubuda idzi Proud Mother, MY FOOT.”

Hlomayi’s accusations extend beyond the photoshoot. She claims that Holy Ten and Kimberly’s public portrayal of a happy family is disingenuous, highlighting a lack of genuine engagement with Mufaro.

She alleges a pattern of neglect and a cynical use of her son for image enhancement. Her post continues: “We’ve never talked, we’ve never met. All I know is what you go around telling people that chi bastard mwana wangu. This child would rather use my son to boost her image than to actually show up and show love in real life.

“You don’t owe my son anything but using him just for content is way too low and paying bloggers saying you’re not Daisy is weird, man. I am a ghetto yut, hapana paticharamba tichiti bhoo muchitibhowa. Just be a good person in real life. All this fakeness, just for marketing your image, is not okay. My son is not a prop.”

Videos have emerged online seemingly contradicting Hlomayi’s claims, showing Kimberly interacting with Mufaro and presenting herself as a caring stepmother. However, Hlomayi maintains her accusations, arguing that these are merely staged performances designed to improve Holy Ten’s public image.

Holy Ten has responded to the allegations, dismissing them as an attempt to sabotage the success of his new album, which was launched on Monday.

In an interview with H-Metro, he stated: “It’s really just a little noise that’s trying to (disturb) the album. I feel like we should all be adults and ignore this stuff.”

His response has done little to quell the controversy, with many social media users expressing outrage and concern over the allegations.
