In a tragic turn of events, a fatal road traffic accident took place on the Kadoma-Sanyati Road, specifically at the 80-kilometre peg, on June 15th, 2024, at approximately 1330 hours. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the incident, which resulted in the loss of two lives and left nine others injured.
The incident unfolded when a Nissan Caravan kombi, carrying 18 passengers, collided with a young cyclist, aged just nine years old. The impact of the collision caused the kombi to veer off the road, ultimately overturning and coming to rest on its left side.
Tragically, two individuals lost their lives in this unfortunate accident, while nine others sustained injuries of varying degrees.
Adding to the complexity of the situation, the driver of the kombi fled the scene following the accident, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
