A 26-year-old man from Kwekwe, Zimbabwe lost his Toyota Corolla car to three thieves after a night of drinking beer on July 17.
According to police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, the victim had given the three men a ride to the Mbizo 15 suburb after spending time at a shopping center drinking beer in the early hours of the morning. The victim knew one or more of the thieves.
During the ride, the victim stopped at his home to pick up a jersey. He parked the car and left the keys in the ignition while he went inside briefly. One of the thieves then jumped into the driver’s seat and drove off while the other two thieves brandished knives and threatened to stab the victim if he tried to intervene.
The thieves made off with the Toyota Corolla, leaving the victim in shock. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could help locate and arrest the suspects. Inspector Mahoko urged anyone who saw the stolen vehicle or has information about the thieves to report it to the nearest police station.
