The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has launched a ward-to-ward campaign blitz ahead of elections – getting into gear in a bid to win over supporters.

Senior CCC official Felix Mafa reckons the grassroots campaign will allow the opposition party to connect with voters, saying they want to ensure “every whinger is heard.”

In Kuwadzana East, CCC representative Chalton Hwende claimed his team had already canvassed over 200 households, promising “Every potential voter will meet face-to-face with candidates.”

Pundits claim the aggressive campaigning might give Chamisa’s cheeky chimps an edge over Zanu, with analyst Pardon Taodzera claiming: “By focusing on local issues and grilling voters directly, they are likely to build stronger relationships.”

CCC leader Nelson Chamisa himself has been campaigning in recent weeks, moving from ward to ward to chew the fat with community leaders.

Whether Chamisa’s back-to-basics blitz will be enough to swing votes away from Zanu remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure – campaign season has well and truly begun.
